Our mission is to fund educational enrichment for the students of Ballston Spa. Through grants to educators, we fund projects that are outside the scope of the Ballston Spa Central School District's budget. Specifically, we fund projects that impact students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, or social development—increasing the depth and/or variety of subjects, or some other form of educational benefit.
We like to think of ourselves as the “cherry on top” of what is regularly funded by the District.
We don’t fill holes in school funding; we amplify the education experiences of children.
WHO WE ARE
Ballston Spa Education Foundation (BSEF) is a non-profit group supporting the mission of the Ballston Spa Central School District by raising and distributing resources for educational enrichment outside the daily operational needs of the school district. Since its inception in 1996, BSEF has granted over $353,000 to fund educationally enriching programs at all levels. TASTE OF BALLSTON SPA
The Ballston Spa Education Foundation will hold its annual fundraiser—The Taste of Ballston Spa—on April 8, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Ballston Spa High School.
All proceeds from the event directly benefit students of Ballston Spa.
Guests will be able to sample delicious offerings from some of the area's most popular restaurants and food vendors, including Augie's, Henry's, Inked Baker, The Ripe Tomato, Jessiecakes, NaNola, Next Door Kitchen, Front Street Deli, Pizza Works, Ribbon Cafe, Sunset Grill and more.
The Ballston Spa Education Foundation is seeking volunteers who wish to serve on our board for the upcoming term commencing July 1, 2016. We are grateful to several retiring members for their many years of service to the Board and look forward to welcoming new members. The BSEF is a 501-3c non-profit organization which raises funds and distributes grants that enrich the educational experiences of Ballston Spa students in grades K-12. Grants are submitted to the Board from BSCSD staff and related organizations for the benefit of BSCSD students. Responsibilities include but not limited to attendance of monthly meetings during the school calendar, assistance with fundraising events and projects, and evaluation of grant proposals.
