GET INVOLVED

VOLUNTEER

The Ballston Spa Education Foundation offers rewarding volunteer opportunities to get involved in local education as well as the community. The foundation board brings people from all different skill sets and backgrounds together for a common purpose, to grant money to Ballston Spa School district educators to enrich their students’ educational experience. The foundation is a not for profit, so fundraising is our main goal. Coming together with our combined efforts to make a difference in the education of all ages of children is inspiring. Please consider becoming part of the Ballston Spa Education Foundation.

For the past two decades, the Ballston Spa Education Foundation (BSEF) has distributed funds to educators in an effort to enhance the educational experience of students in grades K-12 throughout the Ballston Spa Central School District, and provide them with resources and experiences they may otherwise not have. The BSEF distributes grants to teacher-inspired projects that are outside the realm of the daily operational needs of the district. Since our inception in 1996, this volunteer-driven, student-focused, community-funded non-profit has awarded nearly $400,000 in grants directly to teachers, supporting a wide array of educational programming.

This fall, the BSEF committed to funding five initiatives that can only be realized through the support of donors like you. These initiatives included a joint project between the high school and Wood Road Elementary to monitor wildlife through trail cameras, equipment kits for the SeaPerch underwater robotics team at the Middle School, classroom enhancement at Malta Avenue Elementary, a Maker Space at Wood Road and the Expanding Expressions training tool for the district’s speech-language pathologists. With your help, we hope to distribute an equal amount – or more – toward initiatives proposed by teachers in the spring semester.

Sponsor an Event:

In addition to making a tax-deductible gift, you can express your support for the students of Ballston Spa by sponsoring any of our events held throughout the year. Our largest annual event is A Taste of Ballston Spa. The Taste features food specialties from more than a dozen local establishments, raffle prizes, and displays of past BSEF-sponsored student projects, so that you can see how your gifts have been used. This year's Taste will be held at the Ballston Spa High School on Monday, April 8, 2019. Periodically, we arrange Dine to Donate nights at a local restaurant, where a portion of the evening's proceeds go back to the BSEF. Throughout the year we also partner with local artisans to present Learn Local classes at a local business. If your business would like to host a Learn Local event to showcase your products, service or artisan skills, contact us today!

We hope your organization will join the BSEF in supporting the youth of our community by making a tax-deductible gift or sponsoring an event. You can directly impact students and help the BSEF to distribute up to $16,000 this year to worthy student-centered projects. Thank you for your support of the Ballston Spa Education Foundation, and the students of Ballston Spa.

All gifts directly benefit the students in our community by giving them educational opportunities they may otherwise not have. Please join us and give a gift today!
