For the past two decades, the Ballston Spa Education Foundation (BSEF) has distributed funds to educators in an effort to enhance the educational experience of students in grades K-12 throughout the Ballston Spa Central School District, and provide them with resources and experiences they may otherwise not have. The BSEF distributes grants to teacher-inspired projects that are outside the realm of the daily operational needs of the district. Since our inception in 1996, this volunteer-driven, student-focused, community-funded non-profit has awarded more than $425,000 in grants directly to teachers, supporting a wide array of educational programming.
Over the past year, the BSEF funded multiple initiatives that could only be realized through the support of our generous donors. Some of last year’s incredible projects included:
Communication boards at the elementary playgrounds to ensure all learners, regardless of any limiting disability can communicate effectively and enjoy recess together
A unique fitness program called DrumFit for high school physical education classes to provide an accessible and fun curriculum
Ukuleles for the elementary schools
Collaborative station whiteboards for self-paced learning classrooms for high school social studies
Mountain bikes for the school outdoor club to use for riding and to teach bike maintenance and repair
A mobile home for high school students who are pursuing a Building Science trade certificate
With your help, we hope to distribute approximately $15,000 toward projects in the coming year.
